Ondo Guber: Aspirants set on collision course with National Leadership over charade primary election

The worst may still not be heard of the APC over the melodrama that characterized the party’s primary election in Ondo State that was to take place on the 20th April, 2024. The said primary election was rejected wholesale by other aspirants as well as observers. The only aspirant who accept the result is Akinfolarin who said in a viral video that he was directed by the President to step down in a bid to become a senator.

It was reliably gathered on Tuesday the 23rd day of April, 2024 that five of the aspirants have assemble and given a march order to their legal teams to explore all legal media to have the election nullified, that APC, not having a candidate, regardless. Speaking to point blank news at the state Headquarters, a Senior Advocate, in the camp of Jimoh and Akinterinwa explained that the only regrettable outcome of such litigation is that, the APC would not be able to field any candidate in the election.

This, consequence was further emphasized by Barr. Ajisafe, counsel to Akinterinwa who described the act of Ganduje as a slap on the collective intelligence of Ondo State people who had been waiting for a new order of good and progressive governance and sadly, were taking to the stone age by Ganduje and his cohorts. He said:
“We are not conquered people. We are the most sophisticated people in Nigeria. How you can as a progressive party, imposed a Governor that is carrying odious baggage and chased away from his local Government by the people? Even his commissioner in the local government was chased mercilessly beaten and chased away. We would not accept it. We are ready to fight it with the last drop of our blood.”

On his part, Ayo Oritide, an ally of Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, said though Oke has submitted a petition to the Appeal Committee, he is still widely consulting with his supporters as well as critical stakeholders and would address the press probably on Friday and direct his supporters on the course of action.

Further reacting to the ugly development, the spokeperson of Kekemeke Campaign Organization expressed worry over the unconscionable imposition of Aiyedatiwa by Ganduje and warned him from using his propensity for dollar bribery to truncate the peace enjoyable in Ondo State.
