While appealing to the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, not to abandon the university, like the previous administration, the VC disclosed that there were many abandoned projects on the campus of the institution.

“Our proposed School of Maritime project that has being abandoned, if the school could start, it would align with blue economy initiative of President Bola Tinubu. I want to call on the governor to visit the university and bring positive transformation to it,” the VC urged

The professor also attributed the success of the school’s achievements to the support gotten from the state government for listing the school among TETFund beneficiaries, which has provided them with necessary buildings and amenities.

In the area of research and capacity building of the staff of the varsity, the don stated that the university had signed Memoranda of Understanding with some institutions abroad in research, students and staff exchange programmes.
