Gombe female student throws newborn from three-storey building
A female student of the Gombe State University has been arrested by the school security outfit and handed over to the police for allegedly throwing a day-old baby from a three-storey building.
Our correspondent gathered that the baby died due to the impact of the fall from the girls’ hostel.
Sunday PUNCH gathered that the female student, who was worried about what to do with the child after she gave birth to him, decided to end his life.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mohammed Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying that the culprit had been handed to the police.
Abubakar said, “The school security has handed her over to the police.”
When contacted about the identity of the lady, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, said the police were still gathering details.
“For now, we have yet to receive this report officially. Any further development we will be communicated please,” Abubakar said.
