10th NASS: Sanni Jaji remains the best option for House Speakership – IPAC

The Inter-Party Advisory Council( IPAC) in South-West has thrown its weight behind the ambition of the lawmaker representing Kaura Namoda /Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Mr Aminu Sani Jaji, as the Speaker of the 10th National Assembly.

Jaji was a former Chairman of House Committee on National Intelligence, Security and Public Safety.

The Zonal Chairman of IPAC, Mr Wale Adebayo,in a statement on Friday in Akure, said the choice of Jaji was borne out of his professional skills, areas of expertise, personal qualities, and his performance as a lawmaker.

Adebayo stated that without a doubt, Jaji was a brilliant lawmaker who had carved a niche for himself as a team player.

“He has performed creditably well as a lawmaker through effective representation of his constituents.

“ He is such a passionate and consummate team leader who has, on several occasions demonstrated his grasp of issues related to the national question of sustainable growth and development”

“I am a firm believer in equity. The North West zone especially Zamfara should produce the Speaker”

“Since the advent of democracy in 1999, Zamfara has lagged behind in producing top representatives at the federal level. Let me say it is perhaps the only state in the entire North-West that is yet to produce a top ranking government official,”Adebayo said.

He added that all eyes were on the All Progressives Party ( APC) to unveil its zoning position for the presiding officers in the coming 10th Assembly.

“IPAC has aligned with the aspiration of Hon. Jaji to emerge as the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” he said.

Adebayo urged the party to put into account, the significant role played by the North-West zone in APC’s victory at the presidential election.

“Hon. Jaji was the Head ,Contact and Mobilisation for the North-West for Tinubu/ Shettima, and the zone delivered huge votes to the President Elect, and to crown it all, Tinubu won in Zamfara,” he stated.
