OGIRS launches enforcement drive to recover outstanding revenue
The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service has initiated a comprehensive enforcement exercise targeting all revenue streams to recover outstanding tax liabilities and boost government revenue.
Starting from Tuesday, 7th November 2023, the enforcement efforts are set to ensure full compliance with payment of consumption taxes, withholding taxes, back duty liabilities, and road taxes.
This announcement was made in an official release signed by the Executive Chairman of OGIRS, Olugbenga Olaleye, at the Revenue Headquarters in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
The exercise aims to recover all unpaid tax obligations owed to the State government, significantly contributing to the state’s financial resources.
Olaleye emphasised that the enforcement operation would span all three Senatorial Districts of the State.
He urged all road users to ensure their road documents are up-to-date and called upon tax defaulters to promptly remit all outstanding tax liabilities through the Agency’s website or by visiting any of the tax stations located across the state.
The enforcement exercise is part of OGIRS’s commitment to ensuring fiscal responsibility and strengthening the state’s financial stability.
The agency encourages cooperation from citizens and businesses to facilitate a seamless and efficient recovery process.
