Ahead of the contest for the presidential seat of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023, there are speculations that the former President of the country, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is in move to join the contest for the seat of the number one citizen of the country.
Unfortunately, with the trending speculations about the purported presidential ambition of the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, no one has been able to convincingly link him and his perceived presidential ambition to a particular political party.
Noticeably, some individuals have claimed that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, was nursing ambition to pick the presidential ticket of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, many others are even with the opinion that he is not just contending for the presidential ticket of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), some individuals even claimed that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a preferred candidate of President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
All in all, the speculated presidential ambition of former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, may considerably not be far from what anyone could find in the pitch of falsehood. How do I mean?
I mean, there are two substantial reasons that may point to ward the fact that former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has no interest in contesting the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
1. Endorsement of Governor Bala Mohammed
According to National Daily report that was published by major media platforms in Nigeria, including the Nation, the presidential ambition of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has been endorsed by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Considerably, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan gave the endorsement with no, noticeable, condition being appended.
Logically, this may be enough reason to substantiate the fact that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has no interest, whatsoever, in contesting for the presidential seat of Nigeria in 2023.
Sincerely, had it been that he has an ambition, he might have attached condition to his wholehearted support that was given, to endorsement of the presidential aspiration of Governor Bala Mohammed under the platform of PDP.
2. APC and PDP National Convention
Take this or not, the fact remains that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is not a baby-politician. He is experienced politically and academically. I mean, if he is nursing presidential ambition under the platform of any political party, either the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Goodluck Ebele Jonathan knows the importance of influencing who takes what position in the National Executive Committee (NEC) of a political party.
Sincerely, if Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had presidential ambition, in 2023, he would gave taken position to influence the National Convention of PDP in 2021 and the forthcoming National Convention of APC, which is scheduled to hold on February 26th, 2022.
Considering the above facts, one may be convinced that the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has no ambition to contest the 2023 presidential seat of the country
