‘Benin cultural heritage deserves celebration’

Nigerian’s fast-rising Afrobeat Artist, Chika Emenike Kalagbor, popularly known as Internationalboy, has celebrated the Benin cultural heritage with his new hit titled “Gio Do”.

This is coming after the success of his chart-topping singles “Lagos” featuring DJ Neptune and Isabella.

On this latest single, he delved into Benin’s vibrant culture and heritage, showcasing his ability to blend contemporary sounds with timeless African influences.

The track features a sample of the legendary Sir Victor Uwaifo’s popular song “Igodo Gio Do,” further enriching the song’s connection to Benin’s musical legacy.

He noted that the track is a celebration of the African experience, aiming to connect listeners to the beauty and depth of one of Africa’s most culturally rich regions.

“I wanted to create something that not only brings the energy but also reflects the essence of Benin’s heritage,” he said.

“Even though I’m not from Benin, the region’s history, art, and music resonate with me deeply, and I hope to convey that through this song.”

Internationalboy noted that his new song is on all digital platforms, after the success of his chart-topping singles “Lagos” featuring DJ Neptune and “Isabella”.
