Pro-Chancellors committee gets new leaders
The Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities has announced the appointment of the Pro-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr Yayale Ahmed, as the Chairman.
This followed an emergency meeting held at the National Universities Commission on Wednesday, as the committee inaugurated a new leadership team.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Communications of the Committee, Karen Daoor.
The statement noted that the Pro-Chancellor of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Benue State, Senator Olanrewaju Tejuoso, will serve as the alternate Chairman, while others include Prof Nora Daddut, Greg Mbadiwe, Prof Ignatius Onimao and Mahmud Shinkafi.
“The new leadership team will lead the Federal Government negotiation team in resolving the ongoing trade dispute with the Academic Staff Union of Universities,” the statement noted.
