Infrastructure development stimulates economic growth – Senator
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation and Senator representing Ogun West, Olamilekan Adeola, has said investment in infrastructure, especially, in providing a good network of roads would stimulate economic growth and transformation.
Adeola, in a statement on Sunday by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, said his determination to focus on road reconstruction in the senatorial district was to further boost the economic growth in the area and allow for unhindered movement of people, goods, and services.
The lawmaker fondly called Yayi disclosed this while reacting to commendations and excitement trailing some of the road projects he initiated.
Some of these roads included the recently completed Ilashe-Okere township Road in Ipokia Local Government, the completed Sabo-Babalawo Road in Owode Idi Ayin in Imeko-Afon Local Government and the ongoing asphalting of Idogo-Ipaja Road in Yewa South Local Government.
Adeola was said to have facilitated the construction of 13 road projects which were part of his delivery in one year as lawmaker representing Ogun West while about 20 others ongoing were said to be at various stages of completion.
The Senator said, “During the campaign, I promised to address the numerous development challenges facing my people in Ogun West and by extension, Ogun State. I diligently fulfil my pledge and will continue to do more facilitation from the Federal Government in delivering dividends of democracy to the Ogun West senatorial district.
“Transportation and commuting are critical to the socio-economic development of any area. I am also using these projects to complement the great strides of our performing Governor Dapo Abiodun who has done much in the area of major road construction across the state”.
The Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Olaniyan, commended the senator for facilitating the projects, adding that the lawmaker’s representation has brought about a lot of socio-economic development to the senatorial district.
