Aisha Babangida’s love for women’s empowerment
Aisha Babangida, the first daughter of Nigeria’s former president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi (retired), and the late Maryam Babangida, is one woman, who has continued to win more hearts with her unfailing love for humanity, her passion for growth, and her uncommon devotion to development in all strata.
The 53-year-old Aisha seems to have lived all her life devoted to the empowerment of women and the girl child. This is aside from her obvious decision to consistently contribute towards human capacity building and more.
Recently, she displayed one of the reasons she has continued to soar and remained a source of joy to her father and the late mother.
Quick to always dedicate most of her achievements to her parents – majorly her late mother – Aisha decided to celebrate International Women’s Day, with women in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises sector. To this end, she had an intimate mentoring session with 50 SMEs from the WenA Community initiative in Abuja.
Aisha and other facilitators delved into strategies for empowering women in business under the theme: ‘Inspire Inclusion: Raising Women Leaders in Business.’
Impressed by the commitment, Aisha noted that she would continue to champion inclusivity and gender equality in the business world.
