The Anambra State Police Command has arrested six suspects for various offences at different “stop and search” operations at separate checkpoints across the state. In a statement on Sunday, the command’s spokesman, Superintendent of Police Tochukwu Ikenga, said various arms, weapons and other incriminating items were recovered from the suspects during the exercise. Ikenga added that police operatives attached to Anaku Divisional Headquarters, while on “stop and search” at Anaku/Omor Junction, intercepted eight suspects riding on a motorcycle. He said the suspects fled the scene in the process of searching, but the police chased and arrested three of the suspects, and arms concealed in a bag were confiscated.
