Police nab two for theft of items worth N800,000 in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two suspects, Emmanuel Kostad and Ayomide Damilare, for allegedly stealing items valued at N800,000 in the Sagamu Area of the state.
PUNCH Online gathered that the suspects were nabbed on January 24, 2025, after one Kolawole Oke reported that several items, including a block moulding machine, two metal tables, a rammer, and nine pressers, worth ₦800,000, had been stolen from his site.
Confirming the arrest on Sunday, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the first suspect confessed that the second suspect sold the items to him.
“At about 1:00 pm, one Kolawole Oke, male, came to the station and reported that his block moulding machine, 2 metal tables, a rammer, and nine pressers valued at eight hundred thousand naira only, were stolen from his site.”
“Upon discreet investigation, the moulding machine, 2 metal tables, and 1 rammer were recovered from one Emmanuel Kostad, male, who confessed that he bought the items from one Ayomide Damilare, male, 21-year-old”, she stated.Related News
She disclosed that the case will be charged to court on Monday after a discreet investigation.
Odutola revealed, that in another incident, residents of the Iyana-Iyasi community, in the Ota area of the state, apprehended an armed robber who was attempting to rob a woman, and subsequently handed him over to the authorities after a locally made pistol and Techno phone were found on him.
She stated, “At about 6:30 am, one Tunde Adebanjo was apprehended by members of the community while he was robbing one Mrs Babalola Rachel.”
“Upon arrest, the suspect was found with a locally made cut-to-size pistol and a Techno phone, investigations confirmed that the recovered Techno phone belonged to the victim”, she stated.
Odutola disclosed that during questioning, the suspect confessed to being a robber and that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.“During questioning, the suspect confessed to being a notorious robber in the community, and a subsequent search of his apartment led to the recovery of additional stolen items.”“Preliminary investigation is ongoing, suspect and exhibit would be transferred to SCID for detailed investigation, she stated.
