Rep supports 1,500 constituents with trade tools
Ogun State House of Representatives member representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Femi Ogunbanwo, has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to returning the country to the path of sustainable economy and prosperity.
Ogunbanwo has also reaffirmed his commitment to using his representation to facilitate projects and programmes that make life easier for residents of the constituency while also enhancing its socio-economic advancement.
The lawmaker, according to a statement issued by his media aide, Femi Adeleye on Saturday, disclosed this during an empowerment programme held at Awujale Pavilion, Ijebu Ode.
Over 1,500 people received various trade tools such as grinding machines, sewing machines, water pumping machines, hair dryers, chemical/sprayer kits, hair clippers and fertilisers among others during the programme.
Ogunbanwo said that the intervention is to support and help in cushioning the effects of the ongoing economic reforms.
The lawmaker said, “I want to assure you that the Federal Government is not unaware of current economic realities and is doing everything to ensure that Nigerians smile at last.
“We just all have to be patient because very soon we shall begin to reap the dividends of these economic reforms and I pray that the good Lord will spare our lives.
“This empowerment programme is part of intervention to provide succour to our people, it is aimed at alleviating the suffering of the masses in Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.
“I want to thank you for giving us the mandate to represent you and I want to assure you that we are not going to let you down in the area of quality representation.
“I pledge to continually work in tandem with my electoral campaign to put the people first and serve this federal constituency with sincerity of purpose.”
He reaffirmed his commitment towards the betterment of the people of the constituency, saying that the event was a testament to his dedication to uplifting the constituents.
The Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief James Dina, thanked the lawmaker.
Dina urged beneficiaries to make optimal use of the items.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Adedeji Adekoya lauded the lawmaker for the initiative, adding “This gesture is a huge relief to our people, especially in these challenging times. We pray the Almighty God continually strengthens our worthy representative.”
