The People’s Democratic Party Governors Forum has commiserated with the former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, over the demise of his son, Faisal Makarfi.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Chairman of the forum, accompanied by his Plateau State counterpart, Caleb Mutfwang, visited the former governor on Monday in Kaduna.

Faisal, the first son of the ex-governor, died in an auto crash on Saturday along the Zaria-Kaduna highway.

Speaking, Mohammed, who led a Muslim prayer, condoled with the former governor and his family over the loss.

“We pray that Almighty Allah will console you over this colossal loss; words are not enough to convey our heartfelt condolences, but may Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

“May Allah reward this young man who has come within this short time and contributed his own quota to life and has returned.

“We know that you are a very strong person; you will take this as a test from Allah, and may Allah grant you the courage to bear this loss,” Mohammed prayed.

Responding, Makarfi commended the governors for their camaraderie, particularly for identifying with him during his time of grief.

He said, “Death is an act of God, and no man has the power to prevent it when the time comes.

“After we spoke, you were one of the first groups to come to visit me in spite of your very busy schedules. I am grateful.

“I am aware you recently conducted local government elections in your states, coupled with other activities and challenges, yet you created time to come.

“I am deeply grateful for the show of support.

“As a family, we have accepted this as an act of God, which no man can prevent, and I am strengthened by your show of support.

“I appreciate you and your colleagues in the forum for this support. God bless you all,” he said.
