The Nigeria Institute of Architecture and CDK Integrated Industries have emphasised the need for Nigeria to prioritise investment in building a new generation of architects.

In a statement by the Managing Director of CDK Integrated Industries, Bernard Longe, on Friday, made available to PUNCH Online after its Ultra Polish Collection at the Archibuilt Exhibition 2024 in Abuja, he noted that empowering young architects is crucial to revolutionising the nation’s construction industry.

Stressing the need to invest in young architects, he announced the launch of an initiative called the Innovation Challenge, aimed at young architects in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

“Through this initiative, CDK will recognise and award students for groundbreaking architectural designs, fostering creativity and supporting the development of emerging talent.

This challenge is a testament to CDK Industries’ ongoing investment in the future of Nigerian architecture, aligning with the company’s vision of cultivating forward-thinking architectural minds.

He stated that CDK Industries’ consistent involvement in Nigeria’s construction and architecture ecosystem underscores its dual role as a leading supplier of world-class products and an active proponent of innovation and industry growth.

“The collaboration between CDK and NIA has been instrumental in driving our success and credibility within the industry. The Nigerian Institute of Architects shares our vision of empowering architects and advancing the architectural landscape in Nigeria.

Our Ultra Polish Collection is a reflection of our commitment to innovation and excellence, and we are thrilled to unveil it at such a prestigious event as Archibuilt,” Longe continued.
He added that hosting the networking dinner alongside NIA aimed to create a space for meaningful engagement and collaboration with the country’s top architects.

Also speaking, the President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Mobolaji Adeniyi, emphasised the quality and reliability of CDK Industries’ products.

According to Adeniyi, CDK has demonstrated time and again that it is a trusted partner in Nigerian architecture, providing solutions that enable architects to build sustainably and beautifully.

“This gathering allows us to connect, discuss, and innovate together as we all work towards shaping the future of our cities. We are proud to be a part of this event and to continue our collaboration with the professionals shaping the future of Nigerian construction,” Adeniyi concluded.

Many architects posed crucial questions regarding product development, material innovation, and future industry collaborations.

The interaction provided valuable insights into the evolving needs of architects and highlighted potential areas for further collaboration.

Attendees also shared recommendations for specific product features and provided feedback on how CDK could continue to support the architectural community through tailored solutions and partnerships.
