In a sympathy message to Zulum, Idris described the incident that cut across Borno State as highly devastating and unprecedented in recent years.
In the message which was signed and made available by the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Zuru, on Wednesday, he consoled the governor to remain faithful and consider it an unavoidable act of God.
“It’s with sympathetic feeling, that critical government institutions such as the Government House, teaching hospital, Shehu of Borno’s Palace, the state secretariat, schools, and business centres were reported to have been affected”.
The governor added that ” although we in Kebbi have experienced similar unfortunate incidents, we share your grief, and we are deeply pained by the natural disaster. ”
The governor also recommended the constitution of a high-powered committee of experts by the governments of the states prone to flood, that will collaborate with relevant Federal Government agencies and come up with lasting solutions to the annual disaster.
