The Peoples Democratic Party in Bauchi State has elected new party executives.

The party delegates in the state gathered at the Rilwanu Adamu Square, Bauchi Government House, on Saturday and conducted a congress that provided the new leadership.

Following the exercise, Samaila Burga was elected as the chairman of the party in the state.

Speaking after his swearing-in, the new chairman, who was declared unopposed, said the renewed PDP is poised to take power from the ruling All Progressive Congress and return Nigeria to days of glory.

He said, “The days of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at the center is overcome 2027.

“Our emergence as leaders of the party in the state is a victory for all faithful. It is a sign that PDP will secure the Presidency, Governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly seats in the next general election.”

He praised the outgone PDP leadership for their tenacity and acumen that led to winning the governorship elections in the state in 2019 and 2023.

“The beauty of a party is to win elections,” Burga stated.

He appealed to his executives to put their hands on deck and consolidate the success of the party by ensuring that the PDP coasts to power in 2027.

Burga advised faithful leaders against party discord in the primaries of the PDP that may scuttle the plan of the PDP come 2027.

“Let us be united and build the party to secure victory come 2027,” he said.

Until he was elected the Bauchi PDP state chairman, Burga was the Principal Private Secretary to Governor Bala Mohammed.

The state congress was attended by prominent party faithful and delegates from the 20 local governments.

The event was also graced by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau, who represented Governor Mohammed, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Suleiman Abubakar, Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Kashima, Senator Samaila Dahuwa, and other party stalwarts.
