Kano distributes motorcycles, vehicles to support healthcare programmes
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, on Thursday, distributed 88 motorcycles and five operational vehicles to facilitate the movements of front-line health workers in the implementation of various health programmes in the state.
The distribution was done during an event at the Government House, Kano.
The governor’s dpokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, disclosed this in a statement in Kano.
The statement partly read, “The governor distributed 88 motorcycles and three units of 4 Wheel Drive Utility Toyota vehicles, which were the support provided by the Global Fund to Supervisors and their Assistants to ensure effective coordination, and transport of programme commodities that will help in the identification of Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Malaria and HIV.
“Also, two operational vehicles were presented for the operations of Immunization Plus Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transform Services, a high-impact project for the transformation of the PHC system in Nigeria, aimed to improve routine immunisation, skilled birth delivery, reduction of under-five mortality among others.”
Yusuf stressed the need for the proper use of the vehicles and motorcycles, to achieve the desired goal, and promote healthcare services delivery in the state for the better.
