Zamfara renovates 350 schools amid security challenges

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has announced that 350 schools are undergoing renovations, despite the ongoing security challenges threatening the state’s safety.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Wednesday, the governor shared his perspective on infrastructure development and outlined the steps his administration has taken to address insecurity since taking office.
He stated, “We’re just barely one year in office, but I’m telling you, the narratives are changing for the better.
“Right now, we have over 350 schools across the state that we are renovating, rebuilding, and we’re also building capacity.
“We have the least in terms of infrastructure, and we’re doing so much now to make sure we have adequate roads, water supply, and so many other things. So it’s an ongoing process.”
While sharing his thoughts on the insecurity in the state, he remarked that it has been a prolonged and unresolved crisis impacting the region.
“The issue of insecurity is something that we inherited for over a decade, and it is not a problem we’re going to solve overnight, he stated
The governor continued, “We are making a conscious effort to make sure we face these security challenges head-on. And it’s part of the reason why last year, we set up the Community Protection Guard, which is working hand in hand with the Convention on Security in terms of converting this banditry and other criminal activities in the state, and it has gone down drastically.”
