Fintech association elects new leadership
The Fintech Association of Nigeria has announced its newly elected officers for the 2024–2026 term, following recent elections that saw 11 new leaders emerge to steer the association’s affairs for the next two years.
In a statement, the association said the new leadership is expected to build on the progress made by the outgoing GovCo and take the association to greater heights.
The elected officers include President, Dr, Stanley Jacob; Vice President, Dr Jameelah Sharrieff-Ayedun; General Secretary, Tiwa Osazuwa, and Treasurer, Oluwaseun Adesanya.
Yinka Edu, Odun Eweniyi, Funmi Babington-Ashaye, and Yemi Keri were elected as returning governing council members, while Abiola Jimoh, Deremi Atanda, and Gbenga Padeda were elected as members.
The board of trustees had also nominated 10 members for ex-officio positions, who will serve alongside the elected officers.
The association said further information on the nominees and the inauguration of the new governance council would be announced in due course.
A newly elected member of the governing council and co-CEO of XChangeBOX, Abiola Jimoh, expressed his gratitude and sought support for the new leadership.
“I am delighted to inform you of my election to the Governing Council of the Fintech Association of Nigeria earlier today. We pray for your support and seek your collaboration for the sustainable growth of the fintech ecosystem in Nigeria,” Jimoh said in a note to The PUNCH.
Jimoh noted that the new leadership was expected to build on the progress made by the outgoing governing council and take the Fintech Association of Nigeria to greater heights.
He also congratulated the newly elected officers, wishing them success in promoting the development and growth of the fintech industry in Nigeria.
