Edo State University VC bows out after eight years
The Vice Chancellor of Edo State University, Uzairue, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, bowed out on Tuesday, having served for eight and a half years.
Aluyor, who bowed out at a valedictory session of the Senate chamber of the institution was commended by the management of the institution for the good job he did while at the helms of affairs.
The newly appointed acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Dawood Egbefo, lauded the leadership qualities of Aluyor while in service and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The acting VC described Aluyor as a distinguished Nigerian academic per excellence, noting that the institution witnessed growth and development under Aluyor’s tenure.
He said, “I am honoured to stand before you today as the newly appointed Acting Vice- Chancellor, I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me, and I am committed to leading our institution with dedication, integrity, and a collaborative spirit during this transitional period, he added.
“I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, for the height he has taken the institution to in the last eight and a half years. He is a distinguished Nigerian academic per excellence.
“I am fully aware of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and I pledge to work diligently with all of all the staff to ensure our continued success and growth, he assured.
In his response, Aluyor thanked the management and staff for the encomium showered on him as well as their support for him to succeed during his tenure.
Aluyor called on the management and staff to cooperate with the new acting VC to enable him to succeed.
“I want to appeal to you people to cooperate and offer greater support to the new VC so that the university can grow higher and higher,” Aluyor stated.
