Police confirm killing of two abducted Kogi varsity students
The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Bertrand Onuoha, has confirmed the killing of two students of the Confluence State University abducted recently in the Osara area of the state.
Asked to confirm the killing, he simply said, “Yes, two of them were found to have been shot this morning.”
The police commissioner did not, however, provide further details while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Lokoja, the state capital.
He said that investigation is still ongoing as to the circumstances of their killing.
PUNCH online reported that a yet-to-be-ascertained number of students of the institution were kidnapped two weeks ago while they were preparing for their first-semester examination scheduled for last Monday.
However, 21 of them were rescued by the combined team of police and local vigilantes.
Meanwhile, a Non Governmental Organisation, Education for All, had earlier given the names of the two students killed as James Anajuwe, a 100-level Information Technology student, and Musa Hussein, a 100-level Software Engineering student of the university.
