Fashion designer, motorcyclist killed in Osun accident
A resident of Osogbo, simply identified as Seun and the motorcyclist conveying her have been crushed to death in a road accident that occurred in Osogbo, Osun State.
Seun was said to be a fashion designer and was also working with a real estate firm.
It was gathered that the accident occurred Friday evening around OgoOluwa Area of Osogbo.
The spokesperson for the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Yemisi Opalola, while speaking on the development on Saturday, said the motorcyclist conveying Seun was trying to cross the road to join traffic towards Abere.
In the process, a jeep coming from Olaiya Junction and heading towards Abere Government Secretariat hit the motorcycle killing both the rider and the passenger on the spot.
Opalola said, “The accident involved a Toyota Rav 4 Jeep and a Bajaj motorcycle. The identity of the rider is yet unknown.
“The accident occurred when the driver of the Jeep was coming along Olaiya Area heading towards Abere and, on getting to the opposite Mobil Filling Station, hit the motorcyclist while riding against traffic rules.
“As a result, the rider of the motorcycle and the passenger died on the spot. The driver of the Jeep and his friend sustained injuries.
“They were rushed to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital for treatment, while the corpses of the deceased were deposited at the same hospital morgue for autopsy. An investigation is in progress.”
