Emulate Christ’s sacrificial life, Osun lawmaker tells Nigerians
The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, has urged Nigerians, especially Christians, to use the occasion of the Easter celebrations to pray for the country and imbibe the lesson of selflessness of Jesus Christ.
In an Easter message signed by his Media Adviser, Sam Segun-Progress, on Friday, he said Easter symbolises Christ’s sacrificial tolerance and limitless love, lacking in today’s world.
He further said, “Easter celebration is the essence of Christianity and we as Nigerians must start demonstrating the attributes that made Jesus different. The road to the cross, the judgment, the burial, and the ascension were a perfect demonstration of the sacrificial nature of Jesus.
“We Nigerians must be ready to sacrifice for the progress of the country. We must show love and live in peace.
“We must emulate Christ. He left all to come and sacrifice for our redemption. So, as leaders, we must sacrifice too, to impact the lives of our people.”
