2024: l won’t disappoint you if you vote for me, Oke tells Ondo people
A leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress in Ondo state, Chief Olusola Oke, has promised not to disappoint the people of the state if he’s voted in as the governor.
Oke made the promise during his campaign tour of the 18 council areas of the state.
Speaking at Odigbo and Irele council areas, the aspirant, who was welcome by a mammoth crowd of party leaders and supporters, expressed gratitude to the people for the unflinching supports and love showed him towards the 2024 project.
Oke promised to run an open door governance if elected and ensure the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
According to him, market women will be assisted and supported to alleviate their sufferings just as he said farmers will be encouraged to put food on the tables of the citizens.
He said that “I am making it known to you emphatically today that if you vote me as the candidate of the party and I am ultimately elected the governor of Ondo state, I will surely bring good governance to you.
Highlights of the event included presentation of 150 units of customized caps to the Campaign Council of Oke by the National Union of Road Transport workers (NURTW), Odigbo chapter.
The representative of the union, Comrade Sunday Akikaka, said Oke is the man Ondo state people need at this crucial time.
Also, the Ayotide Movement officially declared support for the aspirant in line with the collapsing of the structure of Ayotide Oritedi into that of Oke.
Members of the Eze Ndigbo across the local government area also declared their support for the aspirant.
At Ode Irele, Oke highlighted his programmes to the people in the areas of industrialisation, agricultural revolution, employment creation, ICT-driven education revamping and rural road construction among others.
Representatives of the units, wards and local government leaders pledged their support to the aspiration of Oke, promising him that his long-standing identification with them makes him a preferred aspirant.
Oke who visited Akoko North-West Local Government area, met with local government, ward and unit leaders of the party.
The event, which held at the Oke-Agbe Akoko Town Hall, recorded massive attendance of party leaders and members.
The APC chairman in the local government area, Mr. Kehinde Obanla,who led other executive members to the event said Oke has paid his price and urged all executive members of the party in the local government area to ensure that the Ilaje-born politician secures the party’s ticket.
“Our conclusion has been that the name of the aspirant is sellable. Chief Olusola Oke has been the best among the aspirants because he has been helping the party members far before now. So, time has come to support him too,” he said.
Also speaking, the local government women leader, Princess Opeyemi Funmilayo, said the personality and the leadership quality of Oke is unique and unquantifiable in all ramifications.
Funmilayo said: “I bet it with you, Olusola Oke can’t be compared with other contestants in all standards, considering his intellectual capability.”
While responding, Chief Oke, said “I am massively impressed at this large turnout. It is so massive.
Oke assured the people of the state that if given the opportunity to fly the ticket of the party, he will use his wealth of experience to better the lots of the masses
He said more attention will be concentrated on the grassroots and make life meaningful for them if elected.
The aspirant promised to serve the people, saying that he will ensure that the roads to the rural areas are made accessible.
“I have come to serve you and I will never disappoint you. Give me your support. God who spared my life to be alive today has a reason, and the reason is to serve you,” Oke said.
He used the event to outline his programmes for the state which include support for women, farmers, widows, and creation of farm clusters to pull people back to the farm.
Speaking during his visit to Akoko North-East, Akoko South East and South west, promised never to let them down and as well to make life more enjoyable for them if given the opportunity to fly the party ticket.
At the palace of the Olubaka of Oka, Oba Adebori Adeleye, the aspirant was prayed for and asked to ensure that his campaign is issue based.
