The APC national leadership has scheduled the shadow poll for April 25, 2024.
Oke on Thursday visited Akoko North-West Local Government Area where he met with local government, ward and unit leaders of the party.
The event, which held at the Oke-Agbe Akoko Town Hall, recorded massive attendance of party leaders and members.
The APC chairman in the local government area, Mr. Kehinde Obanla, led other executive members to the event.
Obanla said Oke has paid his price, urging all executive members of the party in the local government area to ensure that the Ilaje-born politician secures the ticket of the party and wins the November 16 gubernatorial election.
“Our conclusion has been that the name of the aspirant is sellable. Chief Olusola Oke has been the best among the aspirants because he has been helping the party members far before now. So, time has come to support him too,” he said.
The local government women leader, Princess Opeyemi Funmilayo, said the personality and the leadership quality of Oke is unique and unquantifiable in all ramifications.
She said: “I bet it with you, Olusola Oke can’t be compared with other contestants in all standards, considering his intellectual capability.”
While responding, Chief Oke appreciated the people of the local government for their large turn out.
“I am massively impressed at this large turnout. It is so massive. Thank you all,” Oke said.
He assured the people of the state that if given the opportunity to fly the ticket of the party, he will use his wealth of experience to better the lots of the masses
The APC gubernatorial aspirant also said more attention will be concentrated on the grassroots and make life meaningful for them if elected.
Oke promised to serve the people, saying that he will ensure that the roads to the rural areas are made accessible.
“I have come to serve you and I will never disappoint you. Give me your support. God who spared my life to be alive today has a reason, and the reason is to serve you,” Oke said.
He used the event to outline his programmes for the state which include support for women, farmers, widows, and creation of farm clusters to pull people back to the farm.
