Cleric mourns Ibadan explosion victims
The planter of Christ Apostolic Church, Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has commiserated with the people of and government of Oyo State over the recent explosion incident which claimed some lives, injured scores of people, and destroyed properties.
The Oyo State government said the number of fatalities from Tuesday’s explosion at Adeyi Avenue, Bodija Estate area of the state capital, had risen to five.
The blast which happened around 8pm caused serious panic in the ancient city as residents ran helter-skelter with a thick dark smoke covering the atmosphere.
Reacting to the incident in a statement made available to journalists by his Personal Assistant on Media, Deji Ogunbusuyi, the cleric, who described the incident as worrisome, sympathised with the families of the victims and those who suffered losses.
“The explosion in a peaceful and populated ancient city like Ibadan is terrifying. It is more worrisome that it happened at a time when the government is tackling various security issues and threats to lives and property.
“My heart goes out to the people of Ibadan, especially the victims and their families over their avoidable losses,” he said.
The cleric commended Makinde for the swift manner he responded to the incidents and urged law enforcement agencies in the state to get to the root of the matter and bring the culprits to justice.
“The Adamimogo Worldwide commiserates with Governor Makinde and the people of Oyo State, especially victims of the explosion.
“It is regrettable that while the government is busy making concerted efforts to ensure progress and development, some individuals, through their nefarious activities, have wreaked havoc and caused pains for fellow citizens.”
Meanwhile, Alo also supervised the commencement of the operation of “Adamimogo” FM radio in Ibadan.
The new radio station, sited in Mokola area of Ibadan, with the frequency 105.1FM, started off on Wednesday with a test transmission which is expected to run for a couple of weeks.
The test transmission is designed to help the new FM station ascertain its reach and to know and modify its service to the already excited audience.
The cleric said, Adamimogo 105.1FM, which he owned, was to be a voice of light to Ibadan and its environs while fulfilling its mandate of educating and entertaining and informing the people as a contemporary radio station.
