Ondo: Sowore speaks on becoming Aiyedatiwa’s deputy
Following Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s assumption of office after the demise of Rotimi Akeredolu, deliberations are underway to select a suitable candidate for the deputy governorship, with four prominent figures currently under consideration.
The shortlisted individuals for the role reportedly include Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Razaq Obe; Akinwumi Sowore, responsible for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperatives; Chief of Staff Olugbenga Ale; and Olumide Falana, serving as the Special Adviser on Gender.
Reacting to the development, Omoyele Sowore said,
“I am not being considered for a position of ‘Deputy Governor’ of Ondo State. I do not have any ambition of such and never would.”
