NGO offers scholarships to 10 Abuja students
A not-for-profit organisation, the City Club of Abuja, has declared its commitment to support 10 students with scholarships, ensuring their access to quality education until they obtain their first school leaving certificate.
CCA’s President, Danjuma Ahmed; and Vice President, Dr. Oladipupo Fasan said this in a communique on Wednesday, reiterating its resounding commitment to its core values and objectives on its 5th anniversary.
It added that the beneficiary, Workman Teachers Academy, situated in the Baragoni, a community in Bwari, Abuja, would be awarded scholarships for its vital role in bringing education to rural communities, with a specific focus on accessibility, availability, and affordability.
“To commemorate its 5th anniversary, the outlined a series of significant philanthropic initiatives designed to advance human capital development and promote education.
As part of their initiatives to promote human capital development and education, CCA pledged to renovate the academy, creating a conducive and engaging learning environment for students. Additionally, they committed to establishing a standard library fully equipped with a wide range of books to enrich the educational resources available to students.

“Through the years, the City Club of Abuja has undertaken numerous philanthropic and charity projects that reflect its dedication to creating a positive impact on society. We provided orphanage support between 2020 and 2022 with consistent visits to orphanages, providing essential donations of food, clothing, and various materials.
“Hospital visitation and medical bill support to the sick by members and contributions to pay medical bills of those on sick beds,” it added.
Founded and incorporated in 2018, its unwavering principles include extending philanthropy within communities, supporting member welfare, fostering an enabling environment for cohesion and growth, emphasising social and physical activities, and championing health campaigns
In heartfelt appreciation, the Director of Operations at Workman Teachers Academy, Mr Omonlumen Innocent, expressed profound gratitude the extraordinary act of love and humanitarianism.
He said the establishment of a well-equipped library, books, chairs, and tables, as well as the provision of scholarships to ten pupils for an entire academic year, represents an unprecedented gesture of kindness.
“While words may fall short in conveying our deep appreciation, we offer our sincerest prayers that God will continue to elevate and bless the members of the City Club of Abuja, leading them to even greater heights in all aspects of life,” he said.
