RCCG names Olulana as Ghandi’s replacement
A successor, Pastor Ayo Olulana, has been named by the Redeemed Christian Church of God to replace the Soun of Ogbomoso, Ghandi Olaoye, who left his position as a regional pastor in the church.
The new regional pastor who was a provincial pastor in the church assumed duty in the Region Eight (Washington D.C and Maryland) of the church formerly led by the new Soun of Ogbomoso in the United States, in September.
In an internal memo signed by the RCCG North America’s Continental Overseer, Pastor James Fadel, Pastor Oluwafiropo Ropo-Tusin was also appointed as Regional Pastor in charge of Special Programmes in RCCG, The Americas Continent.
The statement reads, “Pastor Olulana, an Attorney of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, successfully practised Law for about 12 years in Nigeria before he relocated to the United States in the year 2000.
“Along with his Law practice, he was also the pastor of a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victory Sanctuary in Akure, Nigeria. He presently co–pastors The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Higher Ground Assembly, Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Pastor Remi Olulana.
“Pastor Olulana is a regular feature during the RCCG’s North America Convention.
“He possesses a strong conviction that Prayer is the Master Key that opens all doors, breaks barriers and brings solutions to every problem.
“He is a member of the Board of Coordinators in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, North America. He is the Provincial Pastor in charge of NAR-1 Province 3.
The PUNCH reports that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on September 3, 2023, approved the appointment of a Ghandi as the new Soun of Ogbomoso land.
The PUNCH reports that the stool became vacant after the demise of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, in December 2021, at the age of 95 years after he reigned for 48 years.
