Sanwo-Olu hails Cardoso’s appointment as CBN governor

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Dr. Olayemi Cardoso on his nomination as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu.

Dr. Cardoso’s appointment comes as he steps into the role, replacing Folashodun Shonubi, who had been serving as the acting head of the bank following the suspension of Godwin Emefiele by the President.

His appointment is yet to be confirmed by the Nigerian Senate.
