Davido postpones ‘Timeless’ tour

Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has announced the rescheduling of the European leg of his “Timeless” global tour due to production issues.

Baddest, as he is also known, took to his X page on Monday where he expressed his gratitude to concertgoers who graced his “sold out shows across North America and Dubai”.

However, he noted that a decision was reached to postpone the rest of his European shows till the first quarter of 2024. The singer will still perform at the Manchester concert scheduled to hold at Vic Warehouse on Wednesday.

“One of my greatest joys this year has been reconnecting with all of you during my Timeless Tour. I’ve been humbled to see so many of you show up at sold out shows across North America and Dubai. The energy has been incredible, bless you all.

“I am passionate about giving you a truly timeless experience, every show, every time – One that you all deserve. So, with this in mind I’ve made the decision that after the show in Manchester, I will be moving my remaining European dates until Q1 2024. The additional time allows us to sort out some of the production issues we have been experiencing and gives us time to improve and create a bigger and more immersive show,” Davido said.

He also apologised to fans for the inconvenience caused by the postponement, and assured that the break will be used to create a “perfect” experience for the remaining part of the tour.

Davido released his fourth studio album, “Timeless” in March, several months after the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi. The chart-topping album generated a million streams six hours after release.

He commenced his “Timeless” global tour in July and has since performed in several North American cities including Washington, Boston, Houston, Chicago and Toronto.
