Drama As Lawmakers Impeach Ogbomoso North House Leader
I still remain House leader, Hon Alabi insists

There was a mild drama at the Ogbomoso North Local Government in Oyo State as lawmakers in the council on Tuesday, impeached the Council House leader, Honourable Olasunkanmi Alabi.
New Nigerian gathered that at the Council’s plenary for the day, a member of the Council, Honourable Niyi Oyeniran moved the motion for the impeachment of the House leader and the motion was seconded by Honourable Olutade Gabriel.
The lawmakers hinged the impeachment of the leader on alleged incompetence, misappropriation of funds, breach of trust and perpetual late coming, alleged public assault and disturbance, non compliance and alleged misuse of office.
Immediately after the impeachment of the leader, members of the Ogbomoso North legislative council adjourned their sitting till next Thursday and the council’s legislative mace taken out of the council complex
When contacted, Honourable Olasunkanmi Alabi denied all the allegations levelled against him by the lawmakers, insisting that he still remained the House leader for Ogbomoso North local government.
Honourable Alabi pointed out that as far as he is concerned, he was not aware of the said impeachment and that all the allegations are unfounded
The House leader alleged that the lawmakers were actually after the local government with the impeachment but only want to remove him from office to enable them go ahead with their purported plans to impeach the Chairman.
According to Honourable Alabi, the lawmakers were accusing him of shielding the chairman from being impeached, alleging the chairman of not carrying them along in the running of the local government council.
