The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engineer Ade Adetimehin has assured the leaders of Coalition 2020 that their support for Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the party in the last governorship election is seriously appreciated and would not go in vain.
Adetimehin stated this while receiving the leadership of the Coalition who paid him a courtesy visit in his residence in Akure the state capital.
The party Chairman who received the Coalition with his State Secretary, Mr Shina Alaye commended the doggedness and contribution of the Coalition in ensuring the party’s candidate emerged Victoriously in the keenly contested election.
He urged the Coalition to remain focused and hope for better future ahead.
According to him, “I never believed in any Coalition before now, but your own Coalition convinced me beyond reasonable doubt, I thought the Coalition will go into extinction after election as usual, but your own Coalition is getting stronger even after the election.”
“I promise you in my capacity as the Chairman of the party, I will give you my total support, we are not an ungrateful party, you have done your own part, God willing we are going to reciprocate your good deed, the party is not going to disappoint you, just remain focused”, he said.
The Chairman used the occasion to woo members of the Coalition to make use of the membership revalidation in the party to register as members of the party.
Earlier, Coalition 2020 Chairman, Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola congratulated Engineer Ade Adetimehin for his return as the Chairman of the party in the state, saying his return is a testimony to his hardwork and loyalty which he said has led the party to victory in two Governorship elections.
He added “that your return showed that your people love you and acceptance of your leadership style, without mincing words, you are really a grassroots politician that identify with his people always.
“We also sympathize with you and the entire APC family in the state over the death of Chief of Protocol (COP) to the governor and his driver.
“We are assuring you of our support all the time”.
Souvenirs and gifts was later presented to the Chairman.
