Tinubu, Akande, Kwankwaso, Other Dignitaries Present As Atiku’s Son Marries Ribadu’s Daughter Fatima, the daughter of former EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, tied the nuptial knots with Aliyu, the son of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar on Saturday 3 October at 11:00am. The wedding took place at 18 Mambilla Street, Aso Drive Abuja.
The wedding ceremony had in attendance the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, pioneer National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, and the caretaker National chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and his Kano and Kaduna counterparts, Abdullahi Ganduje and Nasir El-Rufai respectively.
Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande, and a host of others put politics aside on Saturday as they graced the wedding ceremony of the son of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and daughter of former head of EFCC Nuhu Ribadu.
The 2019 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also shared some of the wedding pictures via his official Twitter page.
“On behalf of my family, I express my deepest appreciation to all leaders, associates and friends who came from far and near to grace the wedding Fatiha of my son, @AliyuAtiku to Fatima Ribadu in Abuja.— Atiku Abubakar (@atiku) October 3, 2020”
Both Atiku and the father of the bride, Nuhu Ribadu, hail from Adamawa State and served in the government of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Aliyu is son to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Fatima is daughter of former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu.
The couple’s link comes despite political differences between their fathers. When Atiku served as Vice President under Obasanjo, Ribadu headed the anti-graft agency EFCC.
Both had differences after Ribadu took on a request by the US FBI to the EFCC to investigate the relationship between Atiku and US congressman Thomas Jefferson who was then accused of bribery.
Atiku was no indicted but the probe widened into an accusation of misappropriation in the Petroleum Trust Funds.Since leaving government, both men have been in opposing camps.
The wedding of their children has prompted Nigerians to look beyond political differences.
