Atiku commiserates with Niger over boat accident
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his condolences to Governor Mohammed Bago and the citizens of Niger State following the tragic boat accident that claimed 42 lives in the state.
In a statement from his X account on Friday, Atiku described the disaster as particularly harrowing, noting that it occurred during the night, which complicated the already difficult rescue operations.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated local authorities and tireless volunteers who rose to the occasion, valiantly engaging in search and rescue efforts throughout the dark hours as first responders.
“In this time of immense sorrow, I share in the grief of the bereaved families and stand in solidarity with the government and people of Niger State as they navigate this unfathomable tragedy.
“To all those receiving treatment, I fervently wish for their swift recovery, while offering prayers for the departed souls that they may find eternal peace,” he stated.
