RCCG youth church unveils free transport in Lagos, Ogun
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Youth Province 1, has unveiled a free bus service to assist commuters in some major areas around Lagos and Ogun States.
A statement from the province on Monday said that the free bus service, which began the same day, was launched in response to Nigeria’s rising inflation, adding that the initiative was designed to ease transportation costs while also offering spiritual care and guidance.
The statement read, “Eight buses will depart from Car Park C, near Redemption City, Mowe, Ibafo, and Berger, heading towards CMS and other major business districts. Two buses will depart from Festac, Apple Junction, in front of RCCG Joseph’s Palace, near Mega Chicken, for commuters travelling to Victoria Island, Lekki, and surrounding areas.
“The buses will be available from 5:30 am for the Mowe-Berger routes and 6:00 am for the Festac routes, ensuring early morning convenience for Lagos’s hard-working citizens. The same buses will return commuters to the mainland starting at 6:00 pm each evening, covering the same and additional drop-off locations.”
It explained that the 10 free buses were to support the working class during their daily commute.
“The initiative aims to ease transportation costs while also providing spiritual care and guidance. The statement disclosed that buses will depart from Mowe, Ibafo, Berger, and 7UP at Car Park C (near Redemption City) to CMS, as well as from Festac, RCCG Joseph’s Palace, Apple Junction, to Victoria Island and Lekki.
“This initiative is powered by RCCG Youth Province 1 – Leading the Future Now, under the leadership of Pastor Oluwagbemileke and Pastor Mrs Titilope Adeboye (PICP and Wife of the Pastor in Charge of Province, YP1), Pastor Martins and Pastor Mrs Omolara Olusakin (Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province, Corporate Social Responsibility), and Pastor Abiodun and Pastor Mrs Tolu Famojuro (Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province, Admin),” the statement added.
The Pastor in charge of Youth Province 1, Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, stated, “This initiative will run for five days, and our aim is twofold: to help citizens save money during these challenging economic times and to offer spiritual support. Our ultimate goal is to save souls.
“While we help you cut transportation costs, we also encourage you to prioritise your family’s spiritual well-being by connecting with a local RCCG branch near you.”
He further explained that in response to Nigeria’s soaring inflation rate, now at an alarming 38 per cent and rising, the Youth Movement of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, led by Youth Province 1, had taken bold steps to ease the financial burden on citizens.
Adeboye stressed that “Understanding the economic strain on the working class, RCCG YP1 has launched a free bus service to assist commuters in key areas of Lagos and Ogun State.”
