I am in a hurry to deliver on capital projects – Adeleke
The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that he is in a hurry to deliver and assured that capital projects embarked upon by his administration would be completed as scheduled.
Adeleke spoke on Friday in Osogbo, the state capital, while inspecting an ongoing flyover being executed by his administration in the Okefia area.
The governor went alongside the visiting National President, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Mrs Margaret Oguntala, and her team.
Adeleke, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being done, said the contractor had demonstrated the capacity to deliver the work according to specifications.
“The contractor handling the project has shown that they are capable of delivering quality roads and bridges across the areas they are sited. I am satisfied with the quality of work being done.
“I am not a governor that just sits at the office. I have been looking at the project from the Government House there, but I had to come and see for myself because I am in a hurry to deliver. I hope they will continue at this pace so we can commission the road.
“What they are doing here is a good job. In line with my campaign to deliver a good capital city, we will deliver just that. The contractor handling the project has shown that they are capable of delivering quality roads and bridges across the areas they are sited. I am satisfied with the quality of work being done,” Adeleke said.
Also commenting after the inspection, Oguntala said the quality of the job was of standard, saying, “There is no doubt that the quality of the job being done is of standard and we are very impressed that the governor engaged local content, employing Nigerian engineers for the job and they will not disappoint the state.”
The consultant in charge of the project, Mr Dayo Eluyemi, said he was making sure the contractor was doing the job in line with the specifications given to him.
“We are even conducting integrity test tests on the piles to make sure we are not just doing work, but a quality duty in line with global best practices. We will deliver on time as promised by the governor,” Eluyemi said.
