DIG visits Bauchi, pledges community engagement
The Nigeria Police Force has pledged commitment to transparency, accountability, and community engagement in the discharge of its duties.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG, in charge of Administration and Finance Bala Ciroma, made the pledge when he visited Bauchi State for an on-the-spot assessment in response to the ongoing national protests.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil in respect of the visit, Wakil stated that the visit signifies the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding law and order in the state, especially during the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest.Related News
He stated, “Upon arrival, DIG Bala Ciroma, alongside the Assistant Inspector General in charge of Zone 12, Julius Alawari, and the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Auwal Musa Mohammed visited major deployment locations across the state, including Azare town where a curfew was imposed due to security concerns.”
The PPRO noted that the police remain dedicated to collaborating with all stakeholders to achieve a peaceful resolution to the ongoing protests.
