California man posed as girl to allegedly lure 80 children into making porn, police say
Not one victim, not 5, not 15—but 80 or more child victims. A deceptive, manipulative, twisted, sick 24-year-old man posed as a girl—“Lizzy”—online to lure more than 80 children into making pornographic videos and sending them to him. He groomed the children into doing and filming sex acts with other children and family members which he saved on his phone and computer. This is just evil. And let it be a warning. If it can happen to them, it can happen to your child or grandchild—and it may be happening right now and you’re not aware. Know what is on your child’s cell phone and computer. You’re the parent, you can do that. Be involved. Families need to have a serious discussion about the right time for children to have a cell phone and what is the right balance of access to the internet.
Sacramento Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Rod Grassmann spoke out and encouraged parents to play an active role in learning who their children communicate with online. He said, “Every electronic device connected to the internet is like an open window to the entire world. You have no idea who is talking to your child.” He is right. I pray families everywhere will heed this warning.
